From Gaming to Cybercrime: Where does the pipeline start? |

Hi Cheshire
Playing video games isn't the issue. The danger lies in the online communities surrounding them.
When young gamers frequent certain gaming forums looking for mods or a competitive edge, they are often exposed to cheap, easy-to-use hacking and DDoS tools. Because these tools feel like part of the game, the moral and legal lines quickly blur. What starts as a video game cheat can easily escalate into serious cybercrime.
Instead of criminalising this raw technical talent, we need to redirect it!
The National Crime Agency Cyber Choices Initiative works to step in early. They educate young people on the law and show them how to turn their tech skills into safe, high-paying careers in cybersecurity, coding, and tech defence.
If you have a worry or concern that you wish to speak to someone about, contact us in confidence via the attached form link.
Kind regards
